Unlikely Champion
February 18
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 5:3
God promises a championship in Christ. And he promises it to an unlikely team of fighters:
- “The poor in spirit.” Fighters who have been knocked down in the first round by adversity.
- “Those who mourn.” Fighters whose legs have been kicked out from under them by sin.
- “The merciful.” Winners who take time to pray for those who have tasted defeat.
- “The pure in heart.” Fighters who see the good in every opponent they face.
- “The peacemakers.” Fighters who keep teams united with through the bond of peace.
- “The persecuted.” Fighters who refuse to tap when being choked out by the world.
It is to this team of Anointed Fighters that God promises the championship in Christ.
Remember, it is called a fight for a reason. However, we fight from victory, not for victory. Keep Fighting!
